Recovery Centers Save on Energy

Throughout Kentucky, many people have utilized recovery care facilities to heal and rebuild their lives. We are one of the states hit hardest by the opioid crisis, with an overdose rate nearly twice as high as the national average. Additionally, in the past decade, meth-related overdose deaths in our state have increased 20-fold.

Recovery facilities provide care and guidance for individuals through a vulnerable time, working to help them return to healthier lives. Each facility has their own unique approach to recovery, but all operate under the understanding that recovery programs must be holistic in order to support successful recovery.

The Mountain Association also believe in holistic solutions that provide lasting benefits. Our energy program seeks to provide energy efficiency and renewable energy recommendations that will pay for themselves over time. These solutions that can also lead to healthier, more comfortable working and living environments. We are proud to partner with Eastern Kentucky based recovery centers to help them save on energy and improve comfort, so they can focus on investing in their patients.

In recent years, we have worked with the following centers:

  • Addiction Recovery Care – Louisa, KY – installed heat pumps and energy efficient appliances, is now saving $6,704 per year
  • Liberty Place Recovery Center for Women – Richmond, KY – lighting has potential to save $7,032 per year
  • Genesis Recovery Center for Men – Grayson, KY – lighting has potential to save $4,315 per year
  • Divine Providence Way – Lancaster, KY – lighting has potential to save $5,058 per year
  • Longview Recovery Center

Based on our recommendations, Addiction Recovery Care installed new heat pumps and is now saving roughly $6,700 each year. Their headquarters is based in Louisa, but they operate seven residential treatment facilities and several outpatient clinics across the region, with about 1,000 people in treatment. They are working to bring savings to all of their buildings over time.

More recently, we have conducted on-site energy audits at Liberty Place Recovery Center, Genesis Recovery Center, and Divine Providence Way. Our audits resulted in recommendations of lighting upgrades that have the potential to save between $4,300-$7,000 if implemented.

With savings, recovery programs can then fully focus their resources on their mission of recovery.

Please apply here or contact us today to discuss a free energy audit for your center.
