Women’s Retreat
AMI Women’s Retreat
If you are interested in a Women’s Retreat with an outdoor twist, Appalachian Mountain Institute has a women’s retreat that incorporates yoga, meditation, climbing, and hiking in the tranquil and scenic Appalachian Mountains near Brevard and Asheville North Carolina. This women’s adventure retreat incorporates the components of outdoor rock climbing, yoga and meditation with the skills of Katie Mattson. Katie Mattson of Momentum Coaching will be guiding a women’s weekend infused with experiences of both adventurous energy and calm spirit. Bring a journal and be ready for some nurturing through meditation, yoga, nature, healthy meals and expansive conversation. But don’t forget to come prepared with a sense of adventure as we’ll be exploring the topics of fear and courage while hitting the climbing ropes!
The women’s retreat was a life-changing experience for me, to be with supportive, strong women and face the challenge of rock climbing and succeed as well as the meditation and yoga and exercises we did to fully empower ourselves. The quality and intimacy of the program and the skilled leaders made this program exceptional as well as the beautiful scenery of the mountains and our lodge. I came back refreshed and inspired to pursue more of my life goals and to view challenges in a different, more positive way.

Activities
Climbing
On the AMI Women’s Retreat you will challenge yourself with rock climbing to experience personal growth and the wonder of nature from a new and exciting perspective. Never climbed before? No problem! Climbing will be for all levels. Our focus is on your personal experience and the climbing will be tailored to each person’s needs and abilities. All the climbing setups will be conducted by AMGA certified instructors to help and assist with your experience. Our retreat participants support each other in a way you can only imagine. Pushing your limits on the ropes will allow you to equally tap into vulnerability and strength like you’ve never felt before.
I was a first time rock climber and Jenny, from AMI, was an amazing guide. I felt totally at ease under her guidance and care. I was able to push myself further than I had thought given her gentle assurances and support.
