Climbing the South Face
Climbers LNT Awareness Workshop

Climbing the South Face
Land access is increasingly becoming an issue. How can climbers help keep the cliffs open? All action begins with you, and this workshop is focused on presenting you with practical solutions for being a steward to the climbing resources. You will learn ways of reducing impact at the cliff line, technical skills to increase safety while minimizing impact, and what the real impacts of climbers are today. We will focus on the seven principles of Leave No Trace and ways to practice minimum impact travel and recreation. Cost covers instruction and course materials, including LNT literature, stickers, and backcountry reference cards.
LNT Trainer Course
The Trainer Course will be an extension of the Climbers Awareness Workshop. It will include a mandatory one-night backcountry experience. After covering the seven Leave No Trace principles, we will focus on ways to effectively disseminate and teach the principles to others. Participants will also be required to deliver one to two lessons on certain Leave No Trace principles. The Trainer Course portion will focus on educational strategies and long-term advocacy. Trainer Course graduates will be prepared to deliver LNT Awareness Workshops. Cost includes instruction and course materials, the LNT Trainer Course packet, which includes backcountry plastic reference cards, skills and ethics booklets, and an LNT pocket guide.
