Top Rope Climbing Course

Top rope rock climbingHave you been climbing in a gym and what to explore the exciting world of outdoor climbing?   This one day course will get you prepared to have fun top rope climbing outdoors.  The focus of the course constructing anchors for top roping, in a safer and more efficient way.  You will also benefit from learning how to assess and determine the best options for setting up climbs, and managing risk in a single pitch setting.  Also learn  what equipment to bring, such as climbing rope, anchoring material, climbing shoes and the little extras.  This course will set you on the right path of having fun rock climbing outdoors!

  • Learning how to decide which type of rigging to use
  • Which type of climbing equipment to use
  • Confidence in evaluating the set up
  • Be able to construct a variety of anchors using a cordelette, slings, or rope
  • Be able to set up ground anchors
  • Evaluate the climbing site for safety

This is a one-day seminar.  Participants should bring their own equipment, but more equipment will be available to experiment with other types of gear.  AMI will provide participants with all necessary climbing equipment, food, water and appropriate clothing for the day.
