Climber self rescueThis one day course provides you with all the necessary skills needed to deal with the most common rescue situations in a single pitch setting.  You will learn skills such as how to go hands free while belaying, escape the belay and ascend to an injured climber.  You will learn how to take full advantage of climbing gear such as an ATC guide and grigri for rescue situations.  We will also cover rescuing a climber stuck on rappel.  Most importantly, we will look at what causes common accidents and how to avoid them.

Course Format

This course is broken down into two parts fundamental skills and rescue scenarios.  In part one, the course will cover rescue knots, climbing equipment and essential skills.   In part two the course will go through several rescue scenarios.  Each participant will run through the scenarios in order get hands-on experience.
