Tom has a warm smile and friendly handshake.  Tom also demonstrates a great empathy towards others making him a natural at teaching.  He enjoys working with all types of people and brings an analytical mind towards his teaching.  Tom has spent most of his life working as an engineer, but has decided to move on to more enjoyable pursuits, such as climbing and teaching.

Tom is an American Mountain Guide Certified Single Pitch instructor and is a Wilderness First Responder.  He has been climbing for over 20 years and in that time has climbed all over North Carolina, but also trekking in Nepal.  Tom climbs rock, ice and alpine.  A day with Tom is a fun outing and an enjoyable experience.  Tom is Wilderness First Responder certified  and is a former EMT.
