Tim Barton
AMI climbing guide Tim Barton has been climbing for over 19 years and has a variety of experience from leading traditional routes in Montana to climbing ice in Ouray. Tim has extensive experience working in the climbing industry. Tim worked for La Sportiva and currently works at Black Dome Mountain Sports. Most people are impressed with Tim’s efficiency with the technical systems, which you’ll notice when he sets up anchors or rappels. Tim is a certified AMGA Single Pitch Instructor and is a Certified Wilderness First Responder. Tim has climbed in a variety of locations. He climbed Moonlight Buttress in UT, Kautz Glacier Route on Rainier and many other places out west and along the east coast. AMI climbing guide Tim Barton guides rock, ice and aid climbing for AMI. Tim is an avid ice climber and aid climber.
Beyond the climbing experience, Tim is an easy going guy who enjoys talking with people. People find Tim easy to get to know and pretty relaxed. Tim spends a lot of time with his family. He has a daughter Aubrey and frequently takes her to the park. Tim is also waiting for the day he can take her climbing. Tim has attended Montana State University and is currently working on an English degree.
