Thank you, for an awesome two days of self rescue training! You delivered exactly what I wanted to learn and expected to practice. Your teaching style of taking each skill learned, building upon it for the next skill, and putting it all together for each system was invaluable. My love for rock and ice and alpine climbing is growing, but staying safe for my wife and son is always #1. Thanks for the education and friendship. Until next time…climb on!
Ice climbing is fun. Ice climbing is REALLY fun when guided by Patrick!! Thanks for a terrific day at 215. Couldn’t have been better.
My friends and I have climbed with several guides throughout the country, and Patrick was one of the most knowledgable guides we have ever climbed with. We learned a great deal in a short time, yet it wasn’t overwhelming. I would climb with Patrick again without any doubt.
The folks at AMI are true professionals. Patrick is an amazing instructor and I would recommend his services to anyone seeking that next level of professional development and enhancing your technical skills. He has a gift of being able to analyze your skills, offering suggestions and demonstrating multiple ways of executing skills but acknowledging that there is not just one way to do things.

Pat was awesome! He put together a great day of instruction, very focused on safety, and each instruction built upon the next. It was the best training on the rocks with lots of climbing time to practice. I look forward to more advanced instruction from AMI.
Wonderful teaching style, reinforced key safety issues, approachable, adaptive to participants’ needs, and sensitive to a wide variation of experience levels.
I would highly recommend Patrick as an instructor, and the Anchor Clinic to anyone (of any level) who wishes to learn more about safety and the reasoning behind why gear works the way it does.
“My day at Cedar Rock with Patrick was exactly what I was hoping for. As requested, I received excellent instruction on rescue techniques and improving my climbing movement and had a great time. Patrick is the most thorough guide I have ever climbed with and I will definitely be back for more instruction as well as guided climbs.”

Our “first time” rock climbing family consisting of my wife and I along with our two 16 year old sons and 7 year old daughter had a blast! Our guide was outstanding and gave us the confidence to safely push ourselves to new heights. He guided us through the steps to successfully climb to the top of what I thought would be an impossible rock surface to ascend. Mom, Dad and all three kids made it to the top throughout the day. We’ll definitely return for another trip.

Patrick knows his stuff and is an excellent teacher. Although I am an experienced multi-pitch trad climber, I still learned tons on my outing with him. I highly recommend AMI.
